The Clio Williams iconic vehicle of Renault management is known among other things thanks to its track record in competition.
First of all in its Group A version, despite its limited power and thanks to its reduced weight, its inimitable handling and the talent of its drivers, including Jean Ragnotti, it was competing for victory with much more powerful cars of its time: Among others Sierra Cosworth, Lancia Delta gr A. It still makes pilots like Julien Saunier happy.
Then with the advent of Kit-car regulations, it was entitled to a maxi group A version which is represented by this drawing.
Renault's tightrope walkers delighted the spectators with their razor-sharp passages.
With a power of 220hp for 900kg, its 16-inch rims, the grA version was already nice, the kit-car regulations allowed it to go to 260hp among other things thanks to a completely free injection, and a significant widening of the tracks and rims 17 inches. 50 copies were produced by Renault only.
